We’ve tempted you with tales of the culinary delights here in Lenox (and we promise we’ll tempt you again) but what to do after dinner? Is theater your cup of tea? The Berkshires have you covered for your next stage-cation! (Yes that’s right, we said stage-cation…) There are about 20 different venues in the region, both producing and presenting theater shows, which means live performances all year round.
Lenox’s-own Shakespeare & Company are currently presenting David Sedaris’ Santaland Diaries: an hysterical and subversive insider voice on the relative magic of working as an elf at Macy’s, at Christmas time. Santaland runs through the 30th of December – a perfect antidote to any Christmas hangover you may be experiencing. Berkshire On Stage’s review of the production declares its star, Ryan Winkles, “simply amazing to watch." Santaland lets you laugh at Christmas and love it all at once.
For a more traditional seasonal experience there is of course A Christmas Carol at Berkshire Theater Group. (Yes, this is the production featuring James Taylor!) There are just a few days left to catch these holiday gems!
